When should I order my Wedding band? This is one of the most frequent questions we get asked by clients once they have received their engagement ring. It is totally understandable that many couples wish to order wedding rings as soon as they can to avoid extra stress in the lead up to their big day, however we here at Voltaire would advise ordering no sooner than 6 months or later than 3 months before your wedding date.
The reasons that we give a 3–6 month window is to avoid the following scenarios:
Options
Coming into us 4 weeks before your wedding leaves you with very few options to choose from! You will either have to choose something in stock or that is available to ship immediately from our workshop. This can leave you and your partner frustrated with the thought of either having no ring for your wedding day or having to choose a ring you are not in love with. On the other end, coming in too early can mean you choose a wedding band you think you love until you see another style a few months later that you much prefer! Again, this situation may leave you upset that you jumped the gun. New styles are constantly coming onto the market so it is best to do your research and really investigate the styles you like before coming into us.
Bespoke orders
When you have a very specific design in mind or have an engagement ring that does not sit well with the standard straight band, you may find that you will have to get your wedding band bespoke made by our workshop. This can take much longer than a standard order as the process of designing and drawing up CADs can add extra weeks onto the order time.
Delay
Although we will always try our best to have your rings ready well in time for your wedding, there are situations out of our control that can cause delays when making your rings. In order to allow for any unexpected delays, we always encourage our clients to try and get into us before the three-month mark. This also allows for any last-minute tweaks needed in terms of sizing.
At the end of the day, buy your wedding bands comes down to what works best for you but if you stick to a time-frame of 3-6 months you should find the experience stress free and easy!
